LG teamed with Boston Solar to collaborate on a video to show why LG Solar panels are some of the top-rated panels.
Why LG Solar?
It’s a question that solar companies often hear when their customers are faced with a choice of solar panels.
The reasons LG Solar is a popular choice come down to some important solar power basics: LG Solar’s modules provide top-rated power output and module efficiency backed by one of the industry’s strongest and most trusted warranties. It also doesn’t hurt that LG Solar modules look great – and it’s all possible because of industry-leading technologies developed by a global, highly trusted brand.
LG NeON® 2 modules, for example, incorporate the company’s Cello Technology™ (Cell connection with Electrically Low loss, Low stress, and Optical absorption enhancement). Developed to increase the power output and efficiency of the LG’s solar modules, this new technology also responds to homeowners’ preference for improved aesthetics.
Cello Technology™ incorporates 12 wires into each module instead of the usual three busbars. The circular-shaped wires absorb light more efficiently and enable electrons to flow more freely through the module, significantly boosting power output and module efficiency (efficiency refers to the portion of sunlight energy that is converted into electricity). Cello Technology™ also means LG NeON® 2 solar modules are less vulnerable to micro-cracks and erosion, boosting long-term reliability.
Meanwhile, LG’s premium NeON® R modules feature a newly developed Back Contact Technology that situates the electrodes on the rear side only. In addition to looking great, this technology maximizes sunlight absorption, boosting power output even more.
These are just a few of the technological details that contribute to the strong performance of LG Solar’s modules. All of the company’s products are manufactured with the highest quality materials, undergo rigorous testing procedures, and feature a newly reinforced frame design that enables the panels to handle even extreme environmental conditions – up to a ton of snow load and/or 208-mph winds.
But what about long-term reliability? Set any worries on that front aside with LG Solar. The company has always prided itself on its trusted warranty policies, but it recently took a further step by boosting the warranties on all modules to a 25-year product warranty and a performance warranty guaranteeing at least 88.4% power output after 25 years for NeON® R modules (86% for NeON® 2 modules). That’s a far higher rate than the 80% output guaranteed for most solar modules, representing significant energy savings over that quarter of a century period.
